Indonesian rupiah

The Indonesian Rupiah, commonly known as the Indonesian Rupiah, is the circulating currency of Indonesia. The Rupiah has been in circulation since 1946. Its ISO 4217 code is IDR, and it is commonly represented by the symbol Rp. The issuance and management of the Indonesian Rupiah are the responsibility of Bank Indonesia. Currently, there are banknotes in denominations of 1000, 2000, 5000, 10,000, 20,000, 50,000, and 100,000 Rupiah. Additionally, there are coins in values of 100, 200, 500, and 1000 Rupiah. While the Indonesian Rupiah may not be a globally mainstream trading currency, the demand for its exchange remains robust in Hong Kong due to the presence of over 160,000 Indonesian residents. Currently, all money changers in Hong Kong facilitate the exchange of Indonesian Rupiah.
