Malaysian ringgit

The Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) is the official currency of Malaysia, introduced in 1975. It is designated by the ISO 4217 code MYR and is commonly denoted as RM. The issuance and management of the currency are the responsibility of the Central Bank of Malaysia (Bank Negara Malaysia). Commonly used Malaysian Ringgit banknotes include denominations of 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100 Ringgit, while commonly used coins include 5 sen, 10 sen, 20 sen, and 50 sen. (1 Ringgit = 100 sen). The Malaysian Ringgit is a commonly exchanged currency for Hong Kong residents, and currently, the majority of money changers in Hong Kong offer the service of converting to Malaysian Ringgit.
