vietnamese dong

The Vietnamese Dong (VND) is the official currency of Vietnam, introduced in 1978. It is identified by the ISO 4217 code VND and is commonly represented by the symbol ₫. The State Bank of Vietnam (Ngân hàng Nhà nước Việt Nam) is responsible for issuing and managing the Vietnamese Dong. Currently, circulating Vietnamese Dong banknotes include denominations of 100, 200, 500, 1000, 2000, 5000, 10,000, 20,000, 50,000, 100,000, 200,000, and 500,000 Dong, along with coins in denominations of 200, 500, 1000, 2000, and 5000 Dong. Although the Vietnamese Dong is not a mainstream trading currency, Vietnam has consistently been a popular travel destination for Hong Kong. The majority of local money changers facilitate the buying and selling of Vietnamese Dong.
