The Nepalese Rupee (NPR) is the official currency of Nepal, first introduced in 1932. It is identified by the ISO 4217 code NPR and is commonly represented by the symbols रू or Rs. The issuance and management of the Nepalese Rupee are overseen by Nepal Rastra Bank, the central bank of Nepal. Currently, circulating Nepalese Rupee banknotes include denominations of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 500, and 1000 rupees, with commonly used coin denominations of 1 and 2 rupees. In Hong Kong, there are only two currency exchange shops that support the buying and selling of Nepalese Rupees, namely Travelex Airport Branch and Sheng En Foreign Exchange.
