The Hungarian Forint is the official currency of Hungary and has been in circulation since 1946. Its ISO 4217 code is HUF, and it is commonly represented by the symbol Ft. The filér used to be a subsidiary unit of the Forint, but it is now obsolete. The issuance and management of the Hungarian Forint are the responsibility of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank (Hungarian National Bank). Currently, there are banknotes in denominations of 500, 1000, 2000, 5000, 10,000, and 20,000 Forints. Additionally, there are coins in values of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, and 200 Forints. The majority of currency exchange shops in Hong Kong do not support the buying and selling of the Hungarian Forint. Only the Travelex airport branch in Chek Lap Kok allows for pre-arranged transactions involving the Hungarian Forint.
