Mauritian Rupee

The Mauritian Rupee (MUR) is the official currency of Mauritius, first issued in 1877. It is identified by the ISO 4217 code MUR and is commonly represented by the symbols ₨ or Rs. The issuance and management of the currency are overseen by the Bank of Mauritius. Currently circulating Mauritian Rupee banknotes include denominations of 25, 50, 100, 200, 500, and 1000 Rupees, along with coins of 5, 10, and 20 Rupees.
