The Mexican Peso (MXN) is the official currency of Mexico, first issued in 1863. It is identified by the ISO 4217 code MXN and is commonly represented by the symbols $ or Mex$. The issuance and management of the currency are overseen by the Banco de México. Currently circulating Mexican Peso banknotes include denominations of 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, and 1000 Pesos, along with coins of 1, 2, 5, 10, and 20 Pesos. Local currency exchange shops in Hong Kong currently do not support the buying and selling of Mexican Pesos. Exchange services for Mexican Pesos are only available at the Travelex airport branch in Chek Lap Kok and can be arranged by appointment.
