Argentine peso

The Argentine Peso (ARS) is the official currency of Argentina, and it has been in circulation since 1826. It is represented by the ISO 4217 code ARS. The issuance of the Argentine Peso is under the responsibility of the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic. Currently, there are banknotes in denominations of 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, and 1000 Pesos, along with coins in values of 1, 2, 5, 10, 25, 50 cents, as well as 1 and 2 Pesos. Argentina has announced the issuance of new banknotes with denominations of 10,000 and 20,000 Pesos in 2024.
