The Egyptian Pound is the official currency of Egypt, and it has been in circulation since 1834. Its ISO 4217 code is EGP, and it is commonly represented by the symbols £ or E£. The Egyptian Pound has two subsidiary units: Piastres and Milliemes, where 1 Egyptian Pound equals 100 Piastres or 1000 Milliemes. Currently, there are banknotes in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, and 200 Pounds. Additionally, there are coins in values of 5, 10, 25, 50 Piastres, and 1 Pound.
