The Myanmar Kyat (MMK) is the official currency of Myanmar, first issued in 1952. It is identified by the ISO 4217 code MMK and is commonly represented by the symbols K or ကျပ်. The issuance and management of the currency are overseen by the Central Bank of Myanmar. Currently circulating Myanmar Kyat banknotes include denominations of 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000, 5000, and 10,000 Kyats, along with coins of 1, 5, 10, 20, 50 cents, and 1 Kyat. Local money changers in Hong Kong currently do not support the buying and selling of Myanmar Kyat.
