The Nigerian Naira (NGN) is the official currency of Nigeria, first introduced in 1973. It is identified by the ISO 4217 code NGN and is commonly represented by the symbol ₦. The issuance and management of the Nigerian Naira are overseen by the Central Bank of Nigeria. Currently, circulating Nigerian Naira banknotes include denominations of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, and 1000 naira, with commonly used coin denominations of 1 and 2 naira.
