The Euro is the official currency of the European Union. It has been in circulation as electronic currency since 1999 and as physical banknotes and coins since 2002. Its ISO 4217 code is EUR, and it is typically represented by the symbol €. The issuance and management of the Euro are jointly handled by the European Central Bank and the central banks of the individual countries within the Eurozone. Currently, there are banknotes in denominations of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, and 500 Euros. Additionally, there are coins in values of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 Euro cents, and 1, 2 Euros. The Euro ranks second globally in terms of trading volume, and all money changers in Hong Kong support the exchange between the Hong Kong Dollar and Euro.
