Philippine peso

The Philippine Peso (PHP) is the official currency of the Philippines, having been in circulation since 1852. It is identified by the ISO 4217 code PHP and is commonly represented by the symbol ₱. The subunit of the Philippine Peso is the centavo (sentimo in Filipino), with 1 Philippine Peso equivalent to 100 centavos. The issuance and management of the Philippine Peso are overseen by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (Central Bank of the Philippines). Currently, circulating Philippine Peso banknotes include denominations of 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, and 1000 pesos, along with coin denominations of 1, 5, 10, and 25 centavos, as well as 1, 2, 5, and 10 pesos. The Philippines is one of the popular travel destinations for Hong Kong, coupled with the presence of over 200,000 Filipino domestic workers in the city. This has resulted in a consistently strong demand for exchanging Philippine Pesos. Currently, all money changers in Hong Kong facilitate the buying and selling of Philippine Pesos.
