Macau Pataca

The Macau Pataca (MOP) is the official currency of Macau, first issued in 1894. It is represented by the ISO 4217 code MOP and is commonly denoted as MOP$. The issuance and management of the currency are overseen by the Macao Monetary Authority in the Macau Special Administrative Region. Currently, Macau Pataca banknotes are available in denominations of 10, 20, 50, 100, 500, and 1000 Macau Patacas, along with coins valued at 1 and 5 avos, and 1 and 5 Macau Patacas. All money changers in Hong Kong provide services for exchanging Macau Pataca.
