Chilean Peso

The Chilean Peso (CLP) is the official currency of Chile and has been in circulation since 1975. It is represented by the ISO 4217 code CLP. The symbol for the Chilean Peso is $, and to avoid confusion with the U.S. Dollar, it is often written as CLP$. Currently, there are banknotes in denominations of 1000, 2000, 5000, 10000, and 20000 Pesos, along with coins in values of 1, 5, 10, 50, 100, and 500 Pesos.
